Classroom Instruction with M.A.S.T.E.R. Student Support
IDLM will provide five weeks of classroom instruction in the subjects of Geometry, Algebra I, Pre-Calculus and Calculus.  Instructors will create lessons, assessments, pre- and post- tests and evaluations.  Students will also participate in an abridged version of the M.A.S.T.E.R. Student Program, where they will be given strategies for applying concepts learned in math class to real-world situations.  Also, students will be given the tools needed to be successful in all academic classes, as well as external educational endeavors and activities.

M.A.S.T.E.R. Student with College Readiness Counseling
The M.A.S.T.E.R. Student Program is an intensive program that targets the ‘soft skills’ that successful students have, but which are not explicitly taught in traditional K-12 education.  The M.A.S.T.E.R. Student Program targets areas such as: in-class habits and procedures, at-home habits and chores, manners, organization and reverse engineering of future goals.  The College Readiness Counseling component offers a customized plan and approach to positioning students for college acceptance in an institution that fits them.  Financial strategies are also discussed as part of the strategy for the attainment of a college degree.

Staff Development/Student Motivation Workshop
IDLM will provide staff training to help teachers and tutors infuse the ‘LOVE OF MATH’ into their curriculums and lessons.  The sessions will focus on meeting students where they are and emphasizing CONFIDENCE and RELEVANCE-- increasing confidence and demonstrating the relevance of math.  Student workshops are geared towards allowing students to discover “the math” in everyday life and allowing them to express their math aptitude through multiple intelligences.
